Marketing strategist. Web expert. Information architect. Brand guy. Those are some of the nicer things folks have called me. First and foremost, I’m a business person. Over the past 25 years, I’ve started and run:
- Erickson Strategic – 2 years – providing senior-level marketing expertise to small and mid-sized firms.
- Erickson Barnett – 12 years – one of the leading marketing agencies in the Washington, DC area.
- Parcel Plus Franchise – 8 years – top grossing store in the system.
- Erickson & Associates – 11 years – consultancy with deep expertise in technology-based training.
Combine a quarter century of business ownership with 15 years running marketing firms and what do you get? In short, someone who has tackled a vast array of marketing and business challenges. Take the best practices from those experiences, combine it with the ability to quickly understand your unique situation, and you’ll find a strategic partner who will help your organization thrive.
Philosophy
Most organizations obsess over features and functions. Things that make our offerings faster, better, bigger, and stronger. We have this unrelenting focus on what we’re selling. To thrive in today’s business climate, you have to shift perspective:
It’s not about what you’re selling.
It’s about what your customers are buying.
Once you embrace this customer-centric philosophy, everything about your company changes – your brand, your web site, how you reach out to buyers, and even the way you evolve your products and services.
Values
My goal is to have an honest, straightforward relationship with my clients. You can expect to hear exactly what I think. If I don’t know something, I won’t fake it (but I will research the heck out of it). From a pricing perspective, it’s all quite transparent. No mark-ups or mystery fees. Read through the rest of the site and my blog. You’ll get a pretty good idea of what I’m all about.
